I have a older pse bow I want to remove the bottom limb to send in for replacement. Is it simple to just unscrew the bolt or is it harder then that. The bow is currently strung.

It's harder than that. That's why they make "Bow Press's."

Also, who suggested that you only replace one limb? It's been my understanding that you should always replace both limbs. If not, the older limb will have less tension than a new one.

My PSE had a cracked lower limb and the dealer had PSE (warranty coverage) replace both limbs.

But...DON'T just unscrew a lower limb.

I plan to replace both but figure if I sent the limb to the dealer he can match it up and send me a set. He was trying to have me measure it. The bow is a pse vulcan 1980 or so. I bought it from kman25 on here and did not realize the lower limb was splitting. I tried contacting him with no response so I posted on archerytalk.com and a guy said he has a bunch of lower limbs so I figure it be easier to send him the limb to match up.

Not sure how much you like the bow but you will probably wind up putting more money into fixing it than its worth, and may be better off picking up another bow instead. To have a shop replace limbs you are probably looking at $50 minimum labor/press fees not to mention the cost of the limbs, and most shops would probably want to replace the string and cables and retune when they do the limbs so you are probably looking at over $200 in work for a bow that is worth about $70. Go to archerytalk classifieds and for that same $200 you can pick up a decent bow that is only 3-4 years old.

This is getting a bit fustrating. let me see what Lancaster Archery says maybe they can do the measurements for me cheaply and I will send those and the pics to the dealer in MI. The bow cost only $50.00 I bought it from kman25 on here thinking it was a good deal. I am new to bow ownership and figured for that price if I did not like it it would not be a big deal. He told me the string was just replaced which was not accurate and it was missing the cable restraints as well. I brought it to Lancaster archery to have the length adjusted to find out about the limb. I made a few attempts to contact kman25 with no luck. If I can not get this resolved cheaply then I may just sell the carbon arrows that it came with , the quiver and the true glow sight. Lancaster archery said those items alone were worth the $50. Then I will put the bow ownership idea on hold until I can justify spending 200 + on a bow when I have child support (reason I bought from here, trying to save money) and other bills.

What is he asking you to measure? Is he looking for a limb deflection number off the old limb or just measurements? You can just take a tape measure and see how long the limb is, measure the width at the pocket and that should be all he needs.

Kudos to Lancaster Archery their staff is super nice and helpful. They took apart the bow for me at no charge and even gave me some inserts for my arrows to replace the ones I lost. I went in their thinking I would be paying about 30 + dollars and I was amazed at how helpful and the final fee of nothing. He would not take anything for his time even though I tried several times.

Now off to the post office.

I think you need to scrap the bow and start a new bow fund
Put 8 dollars a week in a jar and you will have 250 by june. Thats 3 beers a week.
I have a high country excalibur that is 100 times the bow you bought I'll sell you for 200 with rest arrows and quiver. I pay out my arse in child support to so I know what it is.

smitz give me a few months and I will see about your bow. I have a court date for 50/50 custody coming up. Hopefully that will not only give me more time with my kids which I cant wait to have but be able to keep more of my money. But PA is a retarded state when it comes to these things so we will see.
