Just bought a Remington 7600 .30-06 brand new. Just been to the range and love this gun and what a kicker compared to my Rem 700 .270. I'm taking this gun to Maine in the fall for bear and was just wondering your thoughts on ammunition. I'm thinking about going with the Federal Premium Nosler Partitions in 180 grain. Anyone shoot this ammo and can give their experiences or other suggestions? Thanks!

You would be hard pressed to find a better bear load than that one. Good luck with your new rifle and hunt!

A friend uses the same gun and ammo on elk and has never had a problem. Good bear gun.

I have a 7600 30/06 Syn/Carbine I use for deer and bear in the thick stuff. For bear I shoot Rem. 220 gr. Round nose Cor-lokts. For deer the 165 gr Pointed Cor-Lokts. The rifle is VERY handy in the deep woods. Those 180 Nosler Partitions should work perfect.

Thank you all for the input. Seems like I've made a good bullet choice.

I've used that combo in Maine. Put the bullet where it's supposed to go and you'll be fine.
If you don't mind me asking, where did ya go? How did you like it?
