Hey guys,
My 11yr old is going to get started in the junior steel plate competitions. I just purchased him a new S&W M22A, and would like some input to a good red dot sight. Tube or holosight? It's only a 22cal so I'm guessing someone makes smaller caliber versions for less money? If anyone has anything for sale, I'd be interested in that also.

I have 3 Tru-glo red dots. One on turkey shotgun, one on X-bow, and one on 30 Herret CF pistol. All work good.

My only concern is hunting in the rain, doubt they are water proof. Cost aboout $27 at Gander. Lots of rough use on mine. Should be fine for 22 auto pistol.

I must admit these Tru-glo seem to last a lot longer on the battery than my older Bushnell red dot sight. And it uses a cheap battery.

The above get good review all over the net. Might have to try one on my .22 AR. I've read they hold up to shotgun abuse so if it performs well it might be a nice cheap alternative to the Aimpoint Micro for my 5.56.
