Ok. This is going to be fun. Every flintlock shooter out there needs a little help with things to blame misses on....hunting or target shooting misses. Let's list 'em here!!! The only rule is that you may only list one excuse per post.....

My frizzen got too soft

Bad angle of sun light made me miss left or right your choice.

there was no sunlight, so I couldn't see my sights right...

Lock time was slow causing me to pull the shot.

Lock time was too fast cauing me to not be ready.

Sprue was up causing aerodynamic fluctuations

Sprue was down causing impropper seating and bullet upset as it was traveling down the bore.

Wedge drifted out of escutchon and barrel staple causing unexpected barrel harmonics resulting in me missing a sure kill shot on a Boone and Crocket Elk. I'll stop now as I have so many of these excuses that I don't want to give all of them away.

This is a real excuse. The deer threw off my timing--he was supposed to keep moving when he went behind the tree not stop.
