after reading all i can about underhammers. i've decided to build my own, action is on its way, and been reading about ed rayl barrel's so i ordered one of his .62 caliber 1/72 twist barrels.
hope this goes together , like i want it.
anyone use a rayl barrel ?

Ed makes a fine barrel. did you get round bottom or square bottom rifleing
Hope you have a good stock design and a wide butt plate or that 62 is going to kick your butt,with the 1-72 twist its gona take a good dose of powder for the best grouping.

I have one of Ed's .25 caliber barrels in a southern style gun. Shoots great, real smooth loading. My deer gun is a .62, not a Rayl, in a English style stock. 95 grains of 3F doesn't kick to bad. I've shot 25 shots at the range many times with no ill effects.

Personally, I would have called Rice Barrels and ask if they had one in stock. Not that they're any better than Ed's, just don't have to wait as long.
