Hi guys
I found this one today and it is the first one I have ever found in all my years of being in the woods. I just want to confirm that it is in fact a rams head. What are your thoughts?

Thanks guys! I took a look at it again this afternoon and noticed 2 other small ones growing next to it. Then I found another about the same size as this one 20yds away. I am going to pick them on monday when I get back to work.

I love to deep fry them with a cajun breading only takes about 2 to 3 minutes but watch how many you put in at one time, they can over flow you deep fryer

I found a bunch on Saturday. Half of them were pretty buggy and yellowed. my question is this: Will new ones continue to come up due to the wet and mild weather? I usually start to find them in late Sept. This year they are pretty early and I may have missed the best harvest. Papinki mushrooms are starting to pop out now as well. Should I just concentrate on them and not on the Rams heads?

Keep looking for the ramshead too. I picked a nice one today off a stump that has yet to produce this year (until today). There were 7 more growing. Bout the size of a baseball. I will let them go til sunday. Supposed to get a good rain tonight and part of tomorrow.

Found 8 on an old oak stump this past saturday. All to small. Went back today and picked them all, plus 2 more that popped up maybe a few days ago. All nice and clean.
