I just received this savage 22/20 gauge from my father inlaw a few days ago. It is a nice gun but it doesn't have a manual and I couldn't find one online. I have a few question about it.

1. Why doesn't it have a serial number?

2. It says .22 long rifle on the top barrel which means I cannot shoot .22 magnums out of it right?

3.It says proof tested 20 gauge 3 inch chamber on the lower barrel.Does this mean I only can shoot 3 inch shells or can I shoot 2 3/4 also out of this gun?

4.Any other info about this gun would greatly be appreciated.

5.What is this gun worth?

Many older/lower priced guns didnt have serial numbers
22 L R only

A ballpark value would be $400 - $600 ... depending on condition, etc., and how bad somebody may want it.

PGHHUNTER,
There is a Savage 24 web site that has the info you need except for an exact value. Most are very knowledgable and helpful as well. Try www.Savage24.com
