Hi everyone,

My grandfather recently gave me a Squire .410 side by side shotgun in really nice shape but said it has demascus barrels and can't be shot. I've been trying to do some research but I can't seem to find any info that agrees with what he told me. I have found that these guns were made in Brazil (which it says right on the gun) from approximately 1969-1989. It has the names Amadeo Rossi and Interarms on it.

Here is a picture:

Based off this information can anyone tell me if this shotgun really has demascus barrels or is it safe to shoot?

Thanks in advance!

You can shoot damacus steel barreled guns. Take it to a competent gunsmith and have it checked out for rust at the hammer welds and if it is ok you can use low preasure ammo in it. If it is damacus you should see the pattern design on the barrel. These guns were imported by Interarms, I am not so sure they were still making damascus barrels in the 60s.
