Hello again. I am still looking for a cabin in PA.

Does anyone have any experience with a prefab log home builder in PA or someone who specializes in cabins? I want to use this more than a deer camp. The wife wants to take people up there for yoga retreats, do Thanksgiving with all the family, stuff like that.

Wish I could be more helpful other than smart comments, but I don't know of anyone.

We've done Thanksgiving in both of ours. One is a log cabin and the other one is a trailer with an addition. It also depends on what part of the state you are in. Someone posted one last fall done by the Amish and it was to die for.

I was involved in a family owned home building business in Bucks co. for almost 50 years.
Building a camp or cabin if you prefer is no different than building any other type home.
Log cabin building is a bit more specialized, but not beyond the realm of most good builders.
Putting log look siding on a conventionaly built home dosent make it a log home however.
There would be no shortage of qualified builders thruout the state. Be aware that most aren't in it for friendship or practice. If budget is an issue, then think about a do it yourself project with a modular built
package from one of the many in PA.

Asking such general questions isn't going to help you. People need to know things like what size you had in mind, amenities, and the budget you are working from to name a few ...
