I've worked 26 days in a row, 10 hour shifts minimum at the power plant outage job I'm working. I put in 80 hours last week.

I can only sit and read the stories and tales posted here. I enjoy reading these immensely, BUT, I'd rather have a morning sitting in the woods listening to a gobbler and calling him in.........

I feel your pain!! I work a few weeks at a time away from home. Sometimes around 120hrs a week I have been out once this year and only because the price of oil is so low right now and my work is slow. Was off Saturday and ended up blasting a jake for bird number 1.

I have a week off coming up soon and cant wait to get out and hunt.

Hang in there Mark, someone has to keep the lights on. Luckily I don't have to work much during outages anymore, but I once did 73 twelve hour midnights in a row.

I'm in the same boat....I went from a condenser job at Conemaugh power station to a boiler outage at Fort Martin in West Virginia.

Man and I got ticked when they cancled my 3 days last week on me. Hoping you get some time as well and thanks for reminding me how good I had it even if they took 3 of 5 days away from me.

I couldn't do it. I haven't missed a day yet this season and don't plan on missing any. Are you allowed to use leave?

Don't feel too bad. Some of us have the time, yet other things still get in the way. I work as a school bus driver, so have every day off from 8:30 until 1:30(split shift). I could literally go out each and every morning however household chores, errands, simple fatigue, etc always seem to get in my way. So far I've only gone turkey hunting three times this season. One was on the opener when my son got a bird. Hoping to get out at least once this week.

I have to say i am 100% jealous. I have worked 15 years and never had a job that offered one rat cent of overtime..id take that money any chance i could get it. Ill hunt some other time.

I am excited for tomorrow. I finally get to go out. Work and school have been getting into my way mostly. I was out tonight and actually got permission to hunt a small property that usually has 10+ birds on it so hopefully I can make a conn

2014 and 2015 I worked outages during turkey season. I left work every morning at 5:15am, went home and grabbed the gun, and hit the turkey woods.

I'm working at Fort Martin too Kickin_Killa. I was at Homer City for a couple of days three weeks ago but came back here immediately. I was at Sammis and Mitchell before that. It's all good. I'll manage to get out at some point towards the latter part of the season.
