We all hate to see the game farms closing and pheasants barely existing in our state . For me it was a nice place to get a few stray tail feathers for my fly tying hobby . Turkey farms another source . Would any of you pheasant folks have any extra tail feathers you could part with ? There are a LOT of flies that can be made from just one prime feather ! I’m surprised no one else responded to your request.

I don’t have any right now. Had I known you wanted some I would have saved some from the season. You are a good ways away from me but I can save some year if you want.

If I were you I would check out some of the shooting preserves in your area. They generally get lots of them that they just pitch at the end of each hunt. If you don’t find some locally let me know. We have our Wounded Warrior Hunt scheduled on a preserve on March 11 and I could get you a bunch then if you want to figure out how to get them.

Depending on how many you want I could probably mail some if I knew just which feathers you wanted.

I will try and remember to bring some home from South Dakota this fall for u we usually bring home about 120 birds and just throw away the tail feathers away

Holy Moly that would set me and everyone else up for 20 years !! Best of luck on that Pheasant hunt . The long tail feathers are the ticket as you may get at least fifty flies out of one feather . Thanks for the interest....Finn.

I haven’t fly fished in years. When I did I usually used wet flies. Don't know if I would even know how to work a nymph.
