Subject: | Changing Opening Day of PA Deer Rifle Season |
In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that will permanently move the opening day of Pennsylvania Deer Rifle Season back to the Monday after Thanksgiving. The annual deer rifle season is special in Pennsylvania. My office received a number of letters and phone calls regarding the impact of moving opening day to the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Local business owners and hunters seem aligned that the move of opening day has hurt businesses and many of the traditions associated with the longstanding original opening day. Currently, deer season begins the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It has been this way since a change in 2019. This legislation will not affect Sunday hunting, nor will it determine the duration of the season. It is my hope that you will join me in supporting legislation to change opening day back. |
no...they dont get to choose just like seniors wont get to choose what size buck they can still shoot if they remove antler restrictions. the opener is Saturday they have to go saturday.I just can not figure people out, if you don't like the Saturday opener and are so against it all you need to do is start your hunting on Monday like you it use to be, is that so hard? I do not hunt on Sundays that is my choice I do not whine an complain about it at all, this a choice that we all still have, it's that one freedom that we still have.
and no sports practice on those days either. the anti hunting / anti gun coaches can just deal with it.If the 1st day of deer is returned to the Monday after Thanksgiving, make sure a law is passed mandating all public and private high schools in PA to be off that Monday. None of this school is so important stuff.
i live in Erie. i can walk to some very good streams along route 5 that have a lot of steelhead in them during spring and fall runs. but i dont really fish.Everyone has a trout stream or stocked waters within 15 minutes of their house. I don't think a lot of people make the annual pilgrimage to their backwoods camps for trout fishing. They go local.
i know PETA doesnt like it when i send them a photo of a road kill and tell them if they file another anti hunting lawsuit, i'll run over another one ! 🤣🤣I wonder if peta..the humane society and all the other anti-hunting people cry and whine, like the hunters of PA cry when we have more opportunities afield, when they get a state agency to terminate a hunting season....
i've been retired since 2015. a retired person can do tons of stuff and still have time to work, do chores but mostly hunt, maybe fish....any day of the week, day or night ANYTIMEWhen you retire every day is a vacation day. Well, until people find out you can do stuff!
