Good to hear. I'm in the beginning stage of getting a home built boat registered. I want to use a trolling motor for power, so am going the registration route instead of just the launch permit, which is for unpowered craft only. Just got off the phone with a lady at the PFBC. I'm glad I built from a legit set of plans, which I still have. I was told the PFBC is cracking down on "home made" boats. If somebody has ideas to build their own boat, make sure you buy legit plans or you will have to get a marine survey done on the boat to establish weight limits, materials used in construction, etc. I was told in some cases this survey could wind up costing in the hundreds of dollars. And for say a motorized plywood boat under 16 feet in length, this could end up costing more than what the boat is worth.
