With the rainy weather i've been finding oyster mushrooms. Spotted a cluster of white growing out of a maple tree on a street in Girard, Erie County. Stopped and asked if I can check them out, sure enough pure white fresh oysters. The owner had no idea, but liked mushrooms so we split about 6 pounds worth. A friend found a cluster about 2 pounds. I also found coral mushroom but needed a ladder to get to them. I've never tried them but they almost look like bears tooth which I love.

I really don't seem to see that many oyster mushrooms around anymore. My aunt usually makes mushroom soup from them. Excellent!

About a 1 lb Oyster cluster emerged off of a Dying Elm last November. Stupid me, too lazy to pick it and it went to waste. Now I have to drive by it everyday, looking at it in it's unrecognizable state wishing I had picked it.
