Osprey Scopes?

951 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  TEE
Anyone use osprey riflescopes? I am looking at the tactical 10-40X50 to top my .22-250, but don't want to drop the $150 that sportsmans guide wants if it turns out to be complete garbage. I have bought a BEC from them and in my opinion it is better than my lupy and nikon. I have also bought a barska that is a piece of junk compared to even a low end tasco. Just wondering where the osprey falls in the quality field.
thanks!

in my experience, any scope that says "tactical" and sells for under $1k, should be labelled "Tacti-cool" instead. Mildot reticles don't make it tactical...junk is junk and osprey scopes dont' change this mantra.

Just my .02

Lets start over, you have a 22.250 and you want a high mag scope that will take the recoil of your rifle. The Tasco Target/Varmint scopes are AFAIK still japanese glass, and worth every penny in low recoil rifles. I have a BSA Mildot that is holding up pretty well on a 22mag and is plenty bright for what I use it for.
thanks for the info

An option is a Vortex 6-24x50 Crossfire Rifle Scope on swfa for $100 but it is backordered. I haven't tried the riflescopes, but I got one of their red dots that got rave reviews also.
