Back in the early '70's a local college built "nesting platforms" (a 5' x 7' wood platform mounted 20' off the ground using utility poles) on our club lease. Today, from our cabin, we have a nesting pair of osprey who make a nest atop a cell tower 500 yards away. They return annually and it is commonplace to watch they fly by with huge fish and snakes in their claws. I have noticed that any work done up in the top of the tower is delayed until the Osprey leave for the winter. Can't help to think this is all the result of those college kids who carried out that project 45 years ago.
