I'm hoping someone on here might be able to help me find information out about an older Ithaca Gun. It is a 12gauge "hammerless" sxs that looks to be in pretty good condition for its age, the bluing looks good, no pitting and the action seems to lock up tight. The serial number is 146 996, The only thing Ive been able to find is that it might be Manier model manufacturer in 1907. Its a steel Barrel but would it be able to fire modern Ammunition? I'm not looking for magnum power but would like to be able to shoot standard bird shells. Thanks for any help.

I have a 1939 Ithaca NID that handles Winchester high brass 4, 5, and 6 shot with no problems. I had a gunsmith check this one before I had it in the field.
