I have an old ithaca double gun I need some info on.
It has 28 in barrels,its hammerless, Ser.# 2769xx, also has F stamped on forend metal, barrels note SMOKLESS POWDER STEEL. Looking for date of manufacture, and any other relavant info.

That F may stand for a Flues model which replaced the "new Model" and ran untill WW2 which pretty much killed Ithica.

Wow, great site timberdoodle, shows the gun being made 1917
Like jon S said in his post, I assume the F stands for Flues?

I'd give that site a call and ask them what the F stands for it may mean Flues or something else. Each manufacturer had it's own codes for a number of specifications....
