They were building a deck in the neighborhood and had a dumster in the street this week.
Ol eagle eye grabbed a few small pieces of discarded pressure treated lumber.

Looked at the current prices. The mail box post runs some $60 to $70. The discarded lumber is worth $5 to me.

If the post rots and falls, I'll use the lumber to nail it the remaining post and bury the new found lumber. Won't know its a formerly damage post.

I keep the post painted well; the part that's showing. The old post survives with pressure treated lumber nailed to the post and buried.

I'm ready for a double.

It's still morning.
