I always thought that Ohio didn't have a concealed carry reciprocity with PA, but it looks like now that our PA Concealed Carry license is good in Ohio.

I was always under the impression that they DID NOT recognize our concealed carry permits, I know a guy that spent a night in jail because he had his handgun in his truck and was stopped for speeding, curffed and taken straight to jail...what does the Ohio State Police believe ?????

In March of 2015, Ohio passed a law that recognized any valid carry license from any state, regardless if they had a formal reciprocity agreement.

Effective March 23, 2015, Ohio recognizes the concealed handgun license of any non-resident who has a valid concealed handgun license from any other state, regardless of whether Ohio has entered into a reciprocity agreement with that state. Because of Ohio’s recognition of those licenses, the Attorney General has confirmed automatic reciprocity for Ohio license holders with several additional states.

PA had reciprocity for a while with OH, then OH decided that we needed to adhere to their issuing guidelines and stopped reciprocity, which since PA has reciprocity with anyone who recognizes our permit meant that we stopped recognizing OH permits. In 2015 OH adopted a similar stance as PA and PA re recognized OH permits.

all to confusing and impossible for me to take the time to stay current with ......I only carry in PA. Don't want to jeopardize my ability to own or carry a firearm because I "think" I know the law

Thank god for Leosa.... I don't need a permit.. all this crap just makes it hard on law abiding citizens, there should be a national carry law... but you wont see that with Killery!

Well that's good news...the incident was 2/3 years ago that I was referring too, wonder why they never made notice of such on their dcnr hunting site...
