A couple of weeks ago this bear was in my yard and I took several photos but just got around to editing them.
In all of the photos it appears that part of its lower jaw is missing and he has a scar in front of his ear. Just guessing but he could have been in a fight with another bear, shot and hit in the jaw or possibly hit by a car. Sure is odd though, other than that it appears to be in good health roughly 4-500 lbs.

Looks pretty healthy. Are those ears tagged?

Yes , both ears are tagged. Just got an Email from our local GP he said he had not tagged this bear and the injury had to have happened after he was tagged.

From the condition and size of that bear his injury doesn't seem to have hurt his ability to eat any.
