Guess I'll start it. Good luck to all. I have one job on the "Honey Didn't" list to finish today and tomorrow, so with 70 degree afternoons forcasted, I'll get that done today and tomorrow. Good luck to all.

First solo sit of the year this morning. Woke up a little later than I wanted. Then had trouble finding the tree I wanted to climb. Despite the bad start 5 doe and 2 buck so far. Both of the bucks stayed 50ish yards away. One was decent. Sitting in an oak flat. A little warmer than I would like but still a beautiful way to start the day!!

Acorns are good in my area of 2A. I going to hunt some white and red oaks tonight by my house, south wind here and should make that work with my climber. I may take a doe tonight if I can get one pointed toward the truck.

I ended the morning with sightings of 3 bucks and 8 doe including one that came in while I was climbing down. I am saving my doe tag for my son so they must know they are safe! All in all it was a great morning on stand. I did a quick check of my cameras on the way out and I had a big shooter walk past at 7:10 this morning. So they were definitely on their feet in my area this morning. I just wish I would have hunted over there!

Acorns are pretty good on the 5A/5B area. I'll be heading out this evening in the stand in the woods behind the house. An east wind is good for that stand.

Skeeters are bad tonight in 5c. I have a feeling I will be itchy tonight. All settled in. I am trying a new spot on the property. A little funnel between two homes. Mr. Squirrel aka eat with a tail is not happy that I am here. Should have brought a slingshot.

Took tonight off to pick the boys deer up and hang a stand. I typically cut my own but had too much going on and it was too warm to hang it.
I repaired a stand with some steel cables with the plastic coating on them. Tested it in the yard and the coating didnt hold up under weight. So I went and bought chain. Repaired 2 stands. Didnt get any hung though.
Guess I will hang it tomorrow.
We will hunt deer Friday evening.
I am going to take the boys pheasant hunting Saturday morning, then my dad want to hunt with his crossbow Saturday afternoon. May take some vacation to hunt the colder weather Monday and Tuesday.

Didn't see a thing this evening thanks to the neighbor firing up the leaf blower and yard tractor.

Had a good evening hunting some oaks. At 5:50 I had two eights points come in and about fifteen minutes later two doe. They fed around me most of the night and was going to shoot the big doe, but I just had a feeling the big ten I know is around might show. He was a no show. I ran out of butane in my Thermcell and it took the skeeters about fifteen minutes to figure that out.

Evening hunt started out nice and easy. Then my cousin started mowing off the bean field I was watching.( deer have them eaten to about a foot high, no yield) walked up thru the woods toward my truck and there is three does 50 yards from my pickup. Then my attention was surprised by six does running right at me nearly missing me as they ran past from the field into the woods. Great to be out on the warm evenings..

Birthday celebrations today....and work. I'm pretty much sitting out this week. I hope to break out on Friday ...if not Saturday.

There's a glut of food now. Acorns dropping big according to my neighbor. He blasted 25 acres of corn in the last week too. The deer sightings are low in day to day events.

Good luck to those who are out.

Seen 20+ tonight hunting a bean field. Had a couple opportunities at does that I passed because I could see antlers coming. Turned out to be two 4 points and a spike.

Looked out across the other end of the field and seen 3-4 other bucks. One was a shooter. Coyotes started howling then and ran all the deer off the field.

I'm really going to have to try and take care of a few yotes this winter.

One doe at sunset with no shot. Could not hunt my acorn stand because of the wind, E blows right to the bedding areas, so i can;t hunt that till Saturday with the west winds. Anyway set up in a stand halfway between the fields and the bedding areas hoping to catch them moving. Camera is showing them entering the fields right after dark so i fugured hunting the field edge would not work. Oh well. Back at it Friday.
