Took a nice hike today found 3 good sized sheepheads but they were old and not desireable. I marked them on the GPS for next year, are we almost done with them for the year? I usualy find some in squirrel season this year seems early.

I have found them as late as about the 20th of october. Although I dont go and look for them. Just happen to find them while archery hunting. Going to pick 2 tomorrow that were to small to pick this past thursday. If we get more rain, (wednesday I believe) I wouldnt be surprised if more pop up

I stopped picking them, I have plenty and the folks I give them to are all happy. I am always looking for new areas to hunt mushrooms and I have seen some Hens/Ramsheads/Sheephead recently that were past their prime along with some immature ones that I am curious to just watch as to how and when they mature.

Did someone say GPS? That just ain't right..

Yes GPS, I am a fan of Geocaching and marking the spots is very similar. not traditional but effective and fun
