No Blind or Decoy !

Anybody else here hunt spring gobblers in Pa. without the use of a blind or decoys? I really enjoy hunting what I call the "old fashioned" way. Just wondered if anybody else feels the same way.

Ive never hunted from a blind. I have used deocys in the past with mixed results

For those that do, I have no problem with them using decoys or blinds...

My personal choice is not to.....</span>
NO BLIND? NO DECOY? How on earth will you EVER kill a turkey?
It all depends on who is hunting with me. With my son we use both 80% of the time. If I am hunting alone in the fields I will use a decoy but if I am in the woods nothing. It is easier to move on the birds without any additional items to worry about and less movement in the woods.

My success is much higher without either as I am normally setting up on a hot bird and letting ht birds tell me where to go rather than trying to find a place that works for the decoy or blind.

Blinds work good for the first day when you have a pattern worked out with preseason scouting. After that you should either be done or time to start hunting them on their terms.
I am usually running and gunning in the hills of Cameron County, killed quite of few over the years. Never with a blind or decoy, just to much to carry! Just remain real still!! Know when to call and know when to shut up......

Both should be made illegal !!!! They both are an unfair advantage and especially those motion decoys.. learn to sit, call which is a word most of these modern ambush specialists never heard of before and be patient.. Let's start a movement, BAN BLINDS AND DECOYS !!
dasher there is a time and place for both. I take my son out we dont use blinds now he is 12 and has been turkey hunting for 5yr he knows how to do it all himself down to callen better than most adults plus i take out 5 to 10 kids out a year that never had a chance to lear how to hunt them and yes we work to going with no blind or decoys its all in knowen your terain and how to set up on them
No blinds or decoys here...too cheap to sink the money, and I am much too mobile to carry them around...

Thats right, lets ban them!!!

Sorry Dad, I know you like to turkey hunt but since you can't sit on the ground any more and need a chair and have other medical issues, and hunt from a blind, no more turkey hunting for you!

Sorry son, I know that at 7 you like to go turkey hunting with dad to watch and experience the outdoors, but because you can't really sit still that long, and hunt with me from a blind, no more turkey hunting for you!
No blinds but will put a single hen, if hunting fields.

while we're at it... lets ban youth gun season and tree stands

come on the deer know gun season is the monday after thanksgiving, it's not fair for them. And treestands I mean sheesh don't even get me started, deer don't know to look in TREES?! when is the last time a deer looked up?

Com' on ppl, blinds w/e who cares. and motion decoys, if they're electronic aren't they illegal anyways?

I agree. I choose not to use them but I don't feel they should ban them either. Like I said I enjoy the hunt more without using them. I feel if guys want to use them then have at it.
I don't use blinds. I do carry a hen and jake decoy in my vest, just to have a trick up my sleeve if I need it. I rarely use them though.
I don't care for using blinds and decoys. I like to be light and mobile.
No decoys No blinds No problem killing birds
I myself, do not own or use a blind or any decoys. I can see the benifits of them both when taking a child or when bohunting. I have no problem with any one using them. I just choose not to because I like to hunt the "old school" ways. Heck I don't even own any plastic calls. And trust me, I have a lot of calls. ha ha
