Kaepernick can thank Eric Reid.

While it was 50/50 that Kaepernick could still play he didn't get this done. the fact that Reid was black balled colluded against was obvious since he couldn't get a job until the new panthers owner signed him to a joke of a deal. Then he out played it so much he just got another longer deal. Showing the fact that 32 teams refused to sign him not because of ability at all.

I can't stand Kaepernick, and I'm a 49ers fan. I agree w/ dragman - Kaep was good until he put all of his energy into activism. A quaterback needs to be devoted to his art and Kaep's art quickly became activism. The thing that ticks me off the most is that he's half white and was raised by adoptive white parents and yet he still feels wronged by white people.

Kaeprnick's skills and worth as a QB went downhill before he started his activism stunts.
Guess he sees it now that other participants are getting paid and he is still kneeling on the sidelines looking in.

If Kaepernick put as much energy into learning his craft and reading NFL defensive schemes as he did bawling about nonsense he may still have a job. He was an amazing physical talent that simply made waaay to many bad decisions during a game. He actually devolved as a quarterback.

I’m not a Kaepernick fan either.

If Kaepernick had been performing at a high level, his activism probably wouldn’t have mattered as much in my opinion. He is primarily a running QB and QBs who are better at running than they are at passing typically don’t last long in the NFL, at least as starters. Teams learn how to defend them and then the inferior passing skills are exposed. They’re also much more at risk of getting hurt. As much as QBs who are not on their rookie contract are paid, it’s a very big risk.

Once NFL defenses had some film on Kaep, he was schemed into mediocrity - not something any team wants at the all-important QB position. He was seemingly only successful early on when teams were not prepared for his unconventional QB play.

Once professional athletes went political I quit watching. Its been almost 4 years since I watched any sport at all, and I wont be going back to it.
