[Stikbow]

Guys.......I am just getting all my gear together to begin to learn this ancient method and I wanted to ask your opinion. Should I learn with a shooting glove or a tab? I kinda like the idea of a simple tab... By the way....I got my bow (Martin Mamba 50#) ordered a back quiver. Need to buy cedar arrows........will do that this week. I have no idea what weight field points to put on?? I'll save that for another post! HaHaHA...

I like a tab. Try both. I saw in your post you wanted to buy cedar arrows. That's great, but let give you my opinion. To learn I would recommend a good set of carbon arrows. Cedar is nice but I think a more consistent arrow, carbon, would lessen the learning curve. Wood can and does have a bit more variation. Figure out what head weight you want to shoot, then determine your correct arrow spine. I shoot 250 grains up front on a carbon shaft, thats what I like. You can shoot from 125 grains and up. Head weight and bow poundage determines spine. Once you get that, everything else is easy. See that wasn't so hard.
