Today I received permission to MD a house that was built in 1790. Its only 1.5 acres but the property has never been hunted. We’re planning on hitting it next Tuesday.

I’m trying my best not to be overly optimistic……….

Good Luck, Ill be expecting a full report regardless

focus on the main travel areas to maximize your efforts and worry about the path less traveled if you are invited back.
-sidewalks
-washlines
-entrances/exits
-path to outhouse
-path to parking area.

Also, if you have the address, find the house on http://www.pennpilot.psu.edu/ and pull up the early 1900's pics to help you locate some of the "lost" landmarks on the property

The Mother of a good friend of mine owns this property, so no matter how long it takes, we’re planning on covering every inch of it.

I’m also hoping to get permission for the neighboring property, which dates from the same period.

The only reason we not going there until Tuesday, is that we’re going up to the hunting camp this weekend. Naturally, the MDs are going along.

How do you spell di s a p p oi n ti n g?

We hit the 1700’s house yesterday. Not even as much as a wheatie. Clad – 1 quarter and 4 pennies.

I hadn’t seen the property before last week, but much of it is landscaped with huge flower and mulch beds and a large fishpond. The owner also told me that years ago, the previous owner had brought in loads and loads of topsoil and covered the whole property.

I think I jinxed myself by posting here ahead of time. So, I’m not going to mention the 1840’s farm that we’ll be hitting the end of next month.

sorry to hear that, have had MANY situations that were the exact same. Potential through the roof but results not worth the gas to get there. Clean fill and topsoil, i hate those words. Good luck at the next spot.
