I just did a swap of some 3D arrows for a knife- don't know the maker. The guy I swapped with said he got it in Tennessee. My question is, since it's my first Damascus steel knife, are there any special instructions for care and sharpening?

X2. And just wipe it with a bit of oil now and then and no worries. And don't store it in the sheath.

I like to run my Damascus blades on a leather strop after sharpening.
As for cleaning, wash in warm water, dry well and lightly coat with oil or paste wax.

On new blades before I deliver them, I rub them down with Weapons Shield grease. Warm the blade up and rub into the high and low spots. Only takes a tiny bit on a finger.

It's a good practice Woodswalker. Takes the wir eedge of from sharpening and poliushes the cutting edge making for slicker cutting.
