Hello,
I’m new to the area, I’m stationed in DC with the military. I grew up doing mostly dove hunting but I have done some deer hunting. I am really hoping to do any and all kind of hunting this year (mainly to fill my freezer). I was hoping to get some public hunting land help and tips. I’d be happy to compensate for anyone’s personal secrets or if anyone wants to allow me a chance to hunt their land.

Welcome to the site. What state do you plan on hunting? Maryland has lots of public land within an hour or so of DC.

If you hunt MD check out Patapsco Valley State Park. It offers multiple locations to bow hunt deer and a few that are open with limited controlled access during the firearms season. If you are military try looking into hunting Aberdeen Proving Ground. they offer deer seasons with many areas, turkey, small game, waterfowl. Hard to beat that!

Really any state! I just know Maryland is more strict on hunting laws and licensing.

How so? I've hunted all of the states surrounding Pa. (except NY) and while there are minor differences between the states in the region, they are all pretty much the same as far as laws and licensing.
When I went to get a MD hunting license they said they didn’t recognize my previous licenses to be considered a not new hunter. It might have been a misinformed worker but that was what I was told.

This is an old post but most places teach international type courses be it firearm or Bowhunting. If you’re certified in them they can’t say no
