I heard about these and checked out the company that is promoting them. They look like they'd be great for hiking ,running,hunting in say around a foot of snow or less. Deep snow might be okay . They are lightweight ( little over 1 lb. each) ; and no pivot hinge. Price is a little high $150 . Might be worth it for long hikes or walking/hunting.
