i may already know the answer to this question, but my dad's crossbow is about 5 years old and the string is still in really good shape, no fraying at all, but i imagine that it has stretched with age. it is a Horton 150 summit. should i replace? Thanks!

I would if it was mine, but that's your choice. I shoot so much I usually change my bow string every year. But a friend shoots just enough to stay proficient and has to change his every 3 years or so.

so obviously when one store says $135 for a string, and another place says $100 tops for string and cables...someone is trying to hose me!
