The larger,heavier conicals do like the larger slower burning FFg over the FFFg and yes do back off on the charge.

70 gr 3F, 200 grain Hornady XPS .45 cal in a sabot sleeve. I can hold a 2 inch group with that set up at 50 yards. I used to use round balls, but the killing is a lot better with the XPS.
