Very nice heartfelt hunt report Rooster!!

I have treaded a few more Big Mtn miles than most...unfortunately.

I have taken my share of quality Rack Bucks plus my share of Does. In fact...I took a nice Doe early ML Season with my 54 PA Mountain Rifle & a 7 pointer first week of reg deer with my TC Pro Hunter. I tell ya rooster,,,that doe gave me as much thrill as the 7 pt!! I think I got to your point a number of years ago killing does or even bucks using centerfires(30-06, 300 winnies etc) so I went 100% Muzzleloader...exception being bear.

I love tinkering with different conicals, round balls, lubes, patches, flint types, 209s, types of powders, rifle twists etc etc. The ML Sport is where its at ...as far as gun hunting IMO. I think you are at the point to getting into smokin 100% too!! I must warn you...its bad for your health(mental that is

). Too much smoking can also get very addictive so BE VERY CAREFULL!!

John,..I know whut ur sayin bout that Y/E financial stuff grabbin ur precious Late Season huntin time.. recollecting nightmares from when i was in public accounting bout 30 years ago!

Hey, the ole flintlock may be your calling as it was mine.

Every hunter gotta have a custom flinter built in their lifetime. My 54 cal PA Mtn Rifle was built by Brad Emig 2 years ago but shulda been built many years before.

I still love in-lines as my custom Doc White "slip fittin" 460 grain PLUS conical throwing.. White Super 91 .504 cal in-line rock's etc....my TC Pro Hunter is a normal one though!

Put dem centerfires in the safe...you & your Son start sparkin & I assure you a "doe kill" will never, never be characterized as "My last doe" by you or him many years down the trail!!!
