I caught my first cat tonight, surprisingly it was in a scent post set, anchored to a drag.

Since I was checking by myself I was going to check the rest of my traps then, comeback to release the cat. To my surprise, the next set I checked, I caught another cat, the second one I have ever caught.

I went home to get some help to release the cats and we released both of them without a problem. I hope to see them again in December, because I do have my bobcat tag!

Good job. I have been staying out of the areas that are pretty thick with cats so I can save them til december. Last year I caught a couple cats early before the season and was able to catch two of the SAME cats again during the season. They are very easy to catch and you should be able to catch them again in the same area.

Tell me about your sets please. Thanks
The first cat was in a 1 3/4 bridger, connected to a drag. It was a scent post set with red urine on it on the top of a hill in a clearing along a trail. The other cat was in a bridger dogless number 2, connected to an earth anchor. It was a dirt hole set in some thick pines where I know the coyotes run. Both sets were intended for coyotes, but it still was fun to catch them.

Speaking of cats I caught another one tonight in a dirt hole, I put the picture in 2016/2017 Trapping catches.
