I finally finished mounting last year's buck! Took me forever to find just the right piece of wood for the plaque, but i settled on this gnarly slice of apple tree. :)

I'm quite pleased with myself for figuring out how to do it! Made some mistakes along the way, but learned from them! My next mount will do better...

Very nice!

I am currently in the process of doing a euro mount myself. I boiled it, pressured washed most of the meat off, and right now I'm trying to get the rest of the meat off around the back side. I can't seem to get all the meat off it. What else should I do to get it off? And is it alright to leave a little meat on the skull before I bleach it?

Thanks all!

I boiled mine, then picked everything off with needle nosed pliers and a screwdriver and wire brush. Then boiled more, then picked more...til it was done. Be careful not to break the delicate structures in the nasal area, you'll be happy at the end!

Definitely get all the meat off before whitening, and consider degreasing.
