I know muskrats have been scarce except in isolated areas of PA for quite some time. What's going on in your area? I just broke the 30 mark this morning and it took me a lot of miles and time to get there. My season started off great and I figured it would be promising, I didn't set heavy and tried to milk out as many as I can, but that's falling off. I know it's not worth it money wise but I can't get enough of trapping muskrats. Is anyone having success or grinding out a rat line or just a few incidental sets on the way hoping to get a few? Please share your experience (without location please)

well I finally found a spot that has em. Tough to find down here in upper bucks. At least access is tough to find to property that might have them. I only have one. My question is now that I found some, what is a good number to trap? I would like to have the chance year after year and do not want to trap them out. Looks like a localized colony. I am terrible at guessing how many are actually there.

Population is up a bit in certain locations. It's all dependent on how much water and food is there year around.
And catching them is dependent on how willing you are to get back in to where they are.

Today's catch from a couple stops.

Good to hear there are still some people having success. They are getting harder and harder to come by. Thanks for the responses.
