do we have anyone on here that hunts them ? what types ? I've always loved getting the "ramshead" . although the sulfer shells are a close second . seems with even the dry conditions they are all over around here

I hunt about a dozen types. Morels, hen of he woods, chicken, black trumpets, puffballs, chanterelles, etc. There are a lot of edible mushrooms in PA.

I actually take days off work to hunt Morel's. I'll get a bug every once in a while and look for the fall Sheephead, but not too often. Don't care for Chicken's, Bolete's too filled with bug larvae, and Chanterelle's are out in July when it's so danged hot. SO, all that said, I'm a Morel guy.

I've never sliced open a Bolete cap that didn't have little cream-colored larvae all through it. Maybe it's just my bad luck.
