Hey guys, i was just wondering if there are any classes or clubs offered that one can take or join to learn about mushrooming? Are there any good websites or books i can buy? i'm interested in learning it but kinda afraid to do it on my own. I don't wanna kill myself or a family member. I would really like to learn hands on from someone who really knows what they are doing. Can anyone point me in a good direction to start?

Finding someone to teach you is tough, but as far as books go I recommend Mushrooms Demystified. It's a long read, and if you want a field guide you can take on hikes you might want Field Guide to the Wild Mushrooms of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic. I own and am glad I bought both.

There will be an edible mushroom hunt/program at Shelter #12 in Bradys Run Park, Beaver County on September 18 starting at 11:00am. Event is sponsored by the Beaver County Conservation District. Haven't had the opportunity to attend it in previous years but I've heard it's pretty good if you're in the area.
