This oak tree contains a naturally occurring pool of rain water in its center, which sits a top a Mifflin County mountain and is surrounded by thick laurel. It has provided great photo opportunities this past year. Here are a few from the 2015/2016 season (stamped dates are off).
If there was a summer bear season I would be in business as it gets used almost daily at times, but then come September they seem to disappear from the property.
It is unfortunate the slots between the trees aren't quite wide enough for a buck's antlers. That poor buck who's pic I posted on one of those hot days during the rut this fall circled it several times, but I don't think could find a spot to take a sip.
