Haven't used any MH calls since the Ronnie Johnson days, but my youngest son bought a nice little box call from you guys that sounds real good.

I use "XT" mouth calls these days.

Me either, I worked for Ronnie back in those days. He was a lot of fun, and passed way to early in life. Been making and running all of my own calls ever since.

Me to. I loved those calls but quite going to the the sportsmans show in H-burg about 10 yrs ago or more and once I wore out the the call I bought there that was the last I've used them. Always liked the tape they used but it seems to have changed since Ron had it. Miss the old boy. Everytime I hear a owl "owling" as Ron would say i can't help but think of the ol'boy doing his hooting holding that single shot 10 gauge gobbler masher. I have one of his VHS tapes signed by Ron himself.

I dont own any newer MH calls, but got three of Ronnies push/pull boxes and one standard box call he made and sold down in alabama at the Pittman hunting outfitters where he guided for several years in turkey season. I carry one of the push pin boxes every year in my vest, somewhat as a rememberance, and also to use, as it has a nice "hollow" sound to it, not "squeaky" , like most push pin boxes. I also use a quakerboy mini boat paddle, quakerboy snuff can tube call, an older one sire box call from Ronnie Clough, and a lynch 101 fool proof box. I also have a slate pot call from rich leathers that will be seeing some daylight this year. I miss ole' Ronnie though, he always had a laugh going on, and that video that the other member has, thats a sought after collectible by alot of people, not alot of those were made, from what I understand. This turned out to be a good post, brought back some good memories !!

Yes, I have many fond memories of Ronnie from from over the years and think of him often. Bo Pittman always refered to him as "The round man with the square deal" He is missed by many!!

Mountain Hollow push pin box call has been my go-to call. It's made of oak, and for some reason it closes the deal on gobblers. I bought 2 more as back ups, but neither sound anything like my original. Not even close. I have used the Double Talk glass/slate for several years and like it. Wish I could get my hands on a back up that sounds like my original !!

Quaker Boy, Primos, MAD, Hunters Spec.,Martin Brothers, Knight and Hale. My vest is loaded. I honestly don't prefer one call company over another. They all kill turkeys.
