Is a goat hunt as tough as they say? Supposed to be the most rugged terrain for access and recovery.

From what my brother told me about the hunt, the animal itself is anti-climactic, gettting and just being where they live is the real deal. There is in shape, and in West shape. The terrain he took the goat in was near mountaineering level steep and narrow and dangerous. He is a rock climber by passion and a cell tower climber for work , so he has been some places. High places.
He shot the goat at 15 yards with the long bow. His real goal to fill the tag which was one of only two for the area. But unfortunately it did not die in a day. With a good hit behind the shoulder. So a follow up was made with a 3006 and he still ran enough to jump and fall 100 ft. hence its broken horn.
The full side was 9 3/4 inches, 250 lb Billie.
