Hey guys a friend of mine is looking to buy a mossburg model 800 in 22-250 and wanted to know if $450 was a good price for it? i told him i never really heard of the gun and woukd see what i can find out. Any info would be a big help.

Only if it's new in the box...The Mossberg 800 was their answer to the Remington 788...I almost bought one back in the day, and was advised against it by a local gunsmith who told me that many of them were "lemons", so I stayed clear..You rarely see them listed anywhere...I doubt if they have the collector appeal of the Remington 788.

I saw one in .30-06 today, and I think it was priced
$300 or $350.

I got 4 of them. Mannlicher, Varmint and Sporters. I paid an average of $250.00 for each of them except one. That was rare 6.5 Rem Mag. Paid around $400.00 for that one cause I wanted it. Probably wasn't worth that but I paid it.
