Got a Garrett ACE 250 for Christmas last year. Only had it out once so far, but I found a '47 penny right away, so it works pretty good.
Sorry mods! I did not know there was a forum for this! I do now!

I have an old whites classic 4 which is an awesome machine for the money
I also own a Minelab Etrac which has increased my quality finds exponentially. It has technology that allows iron and mineralized soil to be blocked along with target detection amongst garbage. It isn't rare to find a coin surrounded by nails or garbage that all other detectors have not found due to the overwhelming iron signals.
I was thinking about something $400 range. I never had one before. My nephew has been tinkering around with his and now I have a very strong interest in getting one. I have seen this one website that has a package deal for a Garret ACE 350. Its from Kellyco option 2, for $334. Any ideas on this package? Does this sound reasonable? I am just too new in the area to know. Of course I don't want something cheap either. I would love to get a high end device, but that is something at this time would make no sense for me at the moment.

The ace350 is loved by most people that use it. It is a good mid range option. Most of the optional stuff from kellyco is just plain garbage so don't go spending much on their packages. Your money would be better spent on a Garett pro pointer to go with your ace350.
As Chaser said, most (all?) of the extras from Kellyco are worthless.

Last August I upgraded my lady’s cheapo detector. I bought her an Ace 350 from another dealer and I paid $289.00 delivered.

Rather than depend upon the listed online prices, you have to actually call the dealers to get a lower price.

I take it that is the little hand held wand instrument to scan over the dirt you dug up? I seen something similar on White's web site.

May I have that dealer's name and or web site? Are they local? I would like too get one in my hands before really buying it. Don't want to buy something blind if I don't have too. Thanks!
Yes it is a very durable version of the pinpointer. Whites makes one but it is a little fragile for my style of hunting. I've tried 4 kinds and the Garrett is the best hands down. IMO they are a must for anyone that will be digging anywhere but their own yard as they cut down the "exploratory" digging on a badly positioned first dig.
My wife got me a Ace 350 a few years ago for my birthday and i have to say no complaints here. I would like to have one of those propointers that 4c_game_chaser is talking about though really cuts down on the recovery time.
Thanks all for the responses! Greatly appreciated!
