Text book hunt this morning. Oh wait I missed. I ended up rushing the shot because he knew something wasnt quite right and was getting antsy. Totally my fault. Back at it on another farm where i spotted a big longbeard with some hens. Hoping to make up for my whiff this morning.

Good luck

I'm at camp, was hanging out in the vast wilderness of Sproul State Forest on a picture perfect morning.
Not one gobble. I thought it would be a good morning, but the turkeys make the rules.

Not a peep again all day in 3 diff areas. Covered 5.4 miles...saw 9 jakes in a field at 11am. Not a care in the world just feeding (don't have permission to hunt it). I'm about to drop the gun and take the boat out. Last Fri 10 jakes in a diff field 30 min away, not a peep, spooked at the decoys. They just aren't talking here the last several weeks n flocked up like its Fall. Time to take the wife fishing I think and spend some time together

My son Colton finally connected this year after I messed up opening morning and spooked a good gobbler (actually 2 big gobblers and 2 jakes together). This day in Butler county we had the 2 jakes come into our setup. He was still thrilled to hammer the bigger of two jakes at 25 yards distance at 6:40 am. They came in quick from over 100 yards away responding to every call I made

I shot a late-morning gobbler last week on Tuesday. Today I heard my first gobbles off the roost. There were at least two gobblers, maybe three. They were not where I expected them to be and it took me a while to get there and set up. They shut up after flying down, and then I saw a hen heading for them. I figured I'd let them have their way with her and then they'd come looking. Around 9:00 I spotted a hen about 45 yards away, then another hen at the bottom of the field I was set up adjacent to, but nothing happened. I left at 11:45. Tomorrow I may head to the same place and see what happens.

Wife and I were enjoying each others company drinking coffee on the front porch about 0930. When a turkey started gobbling less than 100 yds from the house. She looked at me and said did you hear that. I just smiled and said yes dear, I did hear him. But I just want to set here and enjoy out time. Big atta boy for me. Only if she knew I was out of tags...
