I shot a late-morning gobbler last week on Tuesday. Today I heard my first gobbles off the roost. There were at least two gobblers, maybe three. They were not where I expected them to be and it took me a while to get there and set up. They shut up after flying down, and then I saw a hen heading for them. I figured I'd let them have their way with her and then they'd come looking. Around 9:00 I spotted a hen about 45 yards away, then another hen at the bottom of the field I was set up adjacent to, but nothing happened. I left at 11:45. Tomorrow I may head to the same place and see what happens.
