Thanks. What do you mean by not your average excal? I hope you mean it in a good way. I have an axiom and like it but was wanting a more compact, faster xbow. I'll post more about it once I'm able to fling some arrows!!
When you get it, check the inside surface of the limbs by the riser bolts. Early production models had some pretty ugly voids which Excal said were no big deal. They really were apparent on the black limbs. Supposedly there were trying to address this issue. Curious if yours will have them or not.
Let us know how you like it. I ended up putting a Hawke XB30 on mine. I think what DPMS means is when you pick it up it just doesn't "feel" like a recurve. They definately raised the bar on this one.
Let us know how you like the new Hawke Scope. I didn't want to wait that long since I am going on a hog hunt this summer. I may get one next year to replace the scope on my Vortex though.
I know what you mean by not wanting to wait. Its going to hard on this boy. If I thought the factory scope was good I would go with it. I would hate to get it and have same troube several are having with eye relief.
I think you are doing the right thing by going with the Hawke. Even without the whole eye relief issues, the factory scope uses chevrons for aiming points. I hate chevrons.
Hawke scopes now have a lifetime warranty, so you are good to go.
I would love to hold one of these but it seems like everyone tells me to wait until June....I hate waiting...They are for sale on ebay though. Any idea who has them in stock???
Dan Miller may have some or if not he should have some soon. His business is Horizontal Archery out of Sardis, Ohio. Great man to do business with and he was the USA excal warranty rep for years (He is a one man show and only has so much time). He is the Excalibur crossbow GURU
I have the 355 coming instead with a leupold scope. Could'nt wait for the hawke. Getting mine from arrowhead on this site. If you need anything crossbow related, give him a shout.
Should get mine around wed.!!!!! Swapped out factory arrows for victory shafts. Might have to wait on arrows. At least I can put it together and stare at it!! I can't wait to shoot this thing and see how it feels.
