From this month's American Rifleman, which arrived in today's mail. Here's the Cliff Notes version:

Freedom Group Inc. will be moving Marlin Firearms production to its Mayfield, KY plant, as well as Remington's Ilion, NY plant, by mid-2011.

Shipment orders will be unaffected by the production transition, as will Marlin Firearms product lines.

You'd think there would have to be some lag time in production at some point. You can't just move operations like that without skipping a beat.

They're probably thinking they'll have enough product in the pipeline, that most customers won't notice the lag?

I guess this means they'll never get around to making the X series in varmint chamberings anytime soon.
