Wald, I went all in on Sitka last year and love it. Pay once cry once!!
They have these to, but it looks like the turtleneck is no more. I know the feeling.A couple of us bought the wind sheer camo turtlenecks about 20 years ago from cabelas they were quality as we all still wear them. My buddy called me the other day and said they don’t make them anymore, and did I know where to get them? I can’t find em anywhere.
Kuiu is way better than Sitka. Hands down. Sitka is decent but not in a league of Kuiu.Wald, I went all in on Sitka last year and love it. Pay once cry once!!
My hunting gear does not exceed the price of my brand new truck. But I swear by Kuiu as it is way better than Sitka. Sitka was bought by Gore. Sitka was founded by what is now Kuiu. Do the research.I have both, as far as archery goes I prefer Sitka. I think right now my camo is worth more than my truck.
I was clarifying (for those who may have thought your reference to "woke stupidity" was part of the original offshoring problem) that "woke" had nothing to do with it. Horrible policy-making that favored corporations - not American workers - was / is the cause.
I actually meant the word "friend" - but it seems you got angry about it. My comments were not an assault at you - they were just a clarification of what actually happened back in the 1980's - nothing more. Peace from here.
Jason Hairston founded Sika, sold to Gore in 2009. Founded Kuiu. Both still quality gear......as a side Hairston commited suicide in 2018 and his wife runs KUIU now.My hunting gear does not exceed the price of my brand new truck. But I swear by Kuiu as it is way better than Sitka. Sitka was bought by Gore. Sitka was founded by what is now Kuiu. Do the research.
Used to love when Cabelas carried Meindl boots. As soon as Bass Pro took over they got rid of that line of boots. They got rid of a lot of the real good hunting clothing also.Used to get boots from Cabelas. Never had a problem. Bought a few odds and ends over the years with no trouble. Took my boy to the Hamburg store this past fall. He loved it.
I must be too young and stubborn, most of my camo was less than $100. I have a 1/4 zip pullover that I've worn for almost 10 years, cost me $25 when I bought it. I did spend $150 two years ago on a pair of Browning waterproof, insulated pants. Best investment I've made clothing wise. I don't know if I'll ever be able to spend $1000+ on hunting clothes
YES! I still have 2 of those turtlenecks. They are a ***** to put on because they don't stretch at all, but they are great once you get them on.A couple of us bought the wind sheer camo turtlenecks about 20 years ago from cabelas they were quality as we all still wear them. I still wear my Cabelas Meindl boots every season. By far, the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. They're warm and lightweight too. A few months back I looked on the Meindl website to see if they had anything comparable. Of course, they didn't.Used to love when Cabelas carried Meindl boots. Try Meindl USA they are Sidney Nebraska Cabelas former employees. The Cabelas Perfek hunter is now the Comfort Hunter. I buy from them and the boots are true Meindl.YES!
