I miss the days of knowing anything you bought with a Cabela‘s name on it was going to be quality. I’m looking to update my rain gear and I can’t find anything on the website that suits me. I’ve had a Cabela’s gift card for probably going on two years now and every time I try to use it they don’t have what I want, they don’t have my size, they no longer carry the brand I wanted, and something I was interested in was $30 cheaper on Amazon. I miss the old Cabela’s.
I’ve had this Skyline Apparition gortex for as long as I can remember. Still waterproof, but as noisy as they come. Made in the USA

I have a saddle cloth/dry plus insulated coat from Cabelas that I bought prior to 1991 when I was in college.Other than having to replace the zipper a few years ago,it looks like new and I wear it constantly.Cabelas used to sell some really high quality stuff.WTH ever happened to saddle cloth?That was the greatest material ever made for hunting cloths.It still have several pioeces that are over 30 years old and going strong.

Cabela's hasn't been the same since Bass Pro bought it. My sons and I haven't gone there since right after BP took over - and we live fairly close to the place. Selection not nearly as good, and the place looked more like a K-Mart the last time we were there. They ran a sale on some outdoor wear, and we were there when the doors opened. It turns out, they had only a couple pieces of that outerwear in small sizes. They tried to convince the mob to buy another brand from the one advertised as "on sale." Bait & switch to get guys in the store. I haven't been back since. I miss the original Cabela's too.

I'm old enough to tell you things have been going in the crapper for decades, friend. It didn't start recently. Things started to go off the rails in the 1980's when the race to get "American" companies moved overseas began. I have long underwear made in the coal regions of Pa. by lady garment worker's union sewers that are STILL in good shape after 25+ years. No seams coming apart, frayed cloth - 100% good shape. But hey ...... women making $8 to $9 / hour were paid way too much (?) - so overseas those companies went for child labor / cheap labor for about $5 per week. I'm wearing some under my sweatshirt as I type this. Today's longies made in China, Bangladesh, India - you're lucky to get 2 seasons out of them before they fall apart.

My wife and I just got back from buying new bath towels. None made in the U.S.A. to be found. Made in India or Pakistan - both VERY QUESTIONABLE "friends /allies" of the U.S. - depending on which way the wind is blowing on a given day. We actually went through the whole pile of the color she wanted to find 4 towels that didn't have the seams coming apart - and they're BRAND NEW!! Missed stitching, terry cloth thread pulled in the middle of the towels, end corners coming apart from unfinished lock-stitching, etc. Why should customers be forced to inspect dozens of towels to find 4 that aren't already CRAP??? No quality control overseas - just cram as many out the doors in the shortest amount of time as possible. And the "global" companies, including "American" name brands -------- don't care.

I have no complaints about restaurant food or service around where we live. Restaurants & their service are pretty good.

I've been to a couple different ones, and it's all the same. Empty shelf's, and the ones that do have items are overpriced. Quality has gone downhill, customer service is crap, even the old Cabela's credit card went from 11 percent to bass pro 18. I've disregarded them as a quality place , and feel it's just another Walmart. Another good one gone bad.

I haven’t bought a thing from Cabelas since Bass Pro bought it out. In fact I did have a Cabelas credit card for the longest time but they shut it off because I don’t use it anymore. Don’t even care either. I now buy most of my stuff from Dunhams or Sportsman Guide

Dicks Sporting Goods would advertise ammo at a great price and you get there the first day of the sale and it was gone.. They only had a couple boxes at that price..

I use to love Cabela`s years ago. Alot of USA clothes and high quality. Their stuff went to pot in the last 5-10 years at least. Gander Mountain use to be great years ago when they were catalog only before they opened and closed all their stores. Most hunting clothes these days are crap or way over priced and still not made in the USA. It`s digusting.

BPS kinda killed what Cabela's was all about. I did go and have a new scope put on a rifle in the last month, they did a good job and it was done correctly.

I live real close to Cabelas and about all I buy there is fishing stuff. There clothing line used to be real good. One of the biggest turn offs for me is their only offering the BPS camo patterns.

It's called a lost leader in retail sales. Meant to hook you in to coming, with the hope you'll buy something else, and hopefully at the full retail price.
Many years ago K-Mart tried that on me, right before Christmas with a toy all the kids wanted, on sale, on such a date. I was there when the doors opened, third person in the store, headed right to the toy department, none in sight. I raised heck with a floor person, and not quietly I may add, who got the manger, I then started in on him. Two minutes later he came out onto the floor looking for me, seems he had found one in the back room.

Just bought a 4most windshear jacket/ shell from Cabela's that was on sale. Nice piece of clothing and just what I was looking for, made in Bangladesh. The little tag inside the jacket at the collar has Cabela's on it, the one near the bottom with cleaning instructions has Bass Pro Shop on it. For all intensive purposed Cabela's is just a name, they no longer exist, been out of business since Bass Pro bought them out.

yeah I’m no spring chicken ….I have been directly affected by the free trade acts and the global economy bs. We use to make the worlds goods now we are the biggest consumer….we were sold out long ago.

I have some very old quality made clothes….I still have a couple things that were my Dads 50 years ago that will wear now and then…

I agree we have been sliding down hill for a long time but NO DOUBT the hill has gotten steeper and the slide has excellerated greatly since 2020 and Covid.The woke stupidity and the lack of people who take pride in anything is at a levels I don’t think many saw coming.
