Congrats! What bow did you get?

1. Some bows are made for the flat nocks and some are made for moon nocks or capture nocks. I would go with the manufacturers recommendations.

2. Yes you can use 125 gr broadheads, but you need to make sure that your total arrow weight including the head meets the manufacturers minimum arrow weight.

3. Aluminium is strong enough and there is nothing wrong with them. I prefer carbon just because they last longer.

Yes. Never shoot flat nocks out of bows designed for moons. Use the nock the manufacturer recommends but it is usually safe to shoot moons out of any bow.

Many crossbow arrows now have brass inserts to increase the front of center balance. In that case most use 100 grain heads. If you use arrows with aluminum inserts, a heavier head such as 125 or 150 helps to increase that FOC.

Nothing wrong with aluminum arrows. Many still use them. Most use carbon these days just as they are more durable.

Do yourself a favor and PM Arrowhead about making you up a dozen arrows for your bow. They will last forever and will be custom matched to whatever bow you are now shooting. Not as expensive as you would think either.

Yes that will save you alot of time and frustration of trying arrows that might not work well in your bow. Many of us on here are shooting his custom made arrows.

I got the excalibur Exocet 200

Great Choice!! I have the Vortex which is the same bow, but has a thumbhole stock instead of the traditional. I am shooting Victory arrows from Arrowhead. You could use 125 grain heads with them and it would give you about 435 grain arrow. This would be a good hunting weight arrow. The minimum arrow weight for Excal bows are 350 grain so you are good there. Did it come with the Excal firebolts?

It came with a few Easton XX75 Razer 2219 bolts.

good solid bow! Welcome to crossbows. I would look at getting some carbon arrows. You will gain some speed,plus carbon is straght or broken. XX78 will bend on ya and thats just a pain in the butt!

It will get expensive really quick too. Looks like you might need a different target or you will be tearing up the fletchings as well. Great shooting.
