I've had my deer stalker for a few years now, and ever since it was new the pan has never sealed completely, so if you tilt it the powder will fall out. I've just had to hold the gun level while walking etc. The question is how do I fix this, or do I need to take it to someone, I don't want to make it worst.
Thanks

Long term, use a flat file to mate the panc around the edge.

Take the lock off and look through the side of the pan area. Daylight will show. The "high spot" will also show. That is where it will need filed. Just do a few strokes at a time.

Short term (this season) beeswax around the lip will help. Or one person on here mentioned chap stick.

The frizzen that comes on the Lyman rifles tend to suffer from poor machining. It may be necessary to file the underside of the frizzen to mate it to the pan better. I've also had luck with switching to a different frizzen.
